Roommates and Existential Questions
What are we going to be like as parents? Who will we marry? Will we ever get married? Is the perfect person out there for us? Will we turn out like our parents? How do we balance a check book? Sometimes my roommates and I find ourselves sitting together in our living room and we'll bring up one of these usually by accident or because something happened to us that day to contemplate our future. Every day we get a little closer to graduating. It's scary, scarier then I thought it would be. The idea that we're not going to be having these conversations anymore, the fun nights and days spent together, makes me sad. We're leaving behind a world where we fantasize about and going into that world. These are probably the greatest conversations I will ever have in my life. They are thoughtful and meaningful and we don't theorize quantum physics or try to solve important questions about where we come from. These are the ones that matter most.
